PRODUCT IN DEVELOPMENT · OFFER NOT YET OPEN
A one-off pre-order offer.
Introductory prices in preparation.
HAVERMA B5 is a product in development. A one-off pre-order offer will prepare its launch. The planned introductory prices apply only to the annual quantity firmly agreed under this offer, not to later reorders or regular sales.
The padded alternative to C13: more space within the postal B5 limit. For suitable mailpieces, at the same postage, with the aim of also keeping the envelope price at C13 levels.
Planned standard: 176 × 250 mm outside · 156 × 240 mm inside · 100 pieces per carton.

ONE-OFF INTRODUCTORY OFFER · NOT YET OPEN
Introductory prices for the one-off pre-order offer.
Current status: product in development; a one-off pre-order offer at introductory prices is being prepared. These terms apply only to the agreed campaign quantity, not as regular selling prices. The collective target is at least 198,000 pieces for the first supply year from production.
Before pre-orders open, we need written confirmation from Swiss Post that this specific B5 product is suitable for the «Volumenbrief», and written manufacturer confirmation that the required dimensions are met. Neither requirement is yet confirmed as fulfilled on this website.
The final fixed price, contract version, pre-order closing date and latest production date will also be set. Until then, there are no binding pre-orders or pre-order progress display. Non-binding expressions of interest do not count as guaranteed purchases.

From design to the first supply year.
The project is currently in planning and preparation. The following steps are prerequisites and planned milestones, not approvals already obtained. Dates depend on testing, project completion and production.
1 · Planning and specification In progress
Define the B5 format, reference sample, materials, closure and testing method. The published design remains 176 × 250 mm outside and 156 × 240 mm inside. Manufacturing tolerances and filling must remain within postal limits.
2 · Postal assessment Confirmation outstanding
Obtain written confirmation from Swiss Post that this specific product version is suitable for the «Volumenbrief». Document the scope and conditions of the assessment. General tariff information or a print-layout check alone does not replace this product assessment.
3 · Production conformity Confirmation outstanding
The manufacturer confirms in writing compliance with the dimensions set by Swiss Post, including suitable tolerances and quality control. The postal and manufacturer confirmations must cover the same product version.
4 · Open pre-orders Not yet open
Set the final price, complete agreement, factory address, import arrangements and latest production date. Pre-orders open only after both technical confirmations and these commercial prerequisites are in place.
5 · Collect binding pre-orders Pre-orders not yet open
Collective target: at least 198,000 pieces within one year of opening. The target can exceed 100%. If it is reached early, a further 30-day period follows. The earlier deadline applies: one year after opening or 30 calendar days after reaching the target. Even if the target is reached late, pre-orders close no later than one year after opening. Only effective annual purchase agreements confirmed by both parties are counted.
6 · Close the pre-order phase Later
Check the total effective committed quantity and confirm project completion. Below 198,000 pieces, no automatic purchase or supply obligation is triggered. Continuing on amended terms requires express agreement.
7 · Produce and inspect Later
Authorise production, inspect the batch against the confirmed specification and document production completion T0. HAVERMA communicates T0 and the start and end of the twelve-month supply period.
8 · Call off quantities and deliver T0 to T0 + 12 months
Take the agreed annual quantities in coordinated partial deliveries. Agree the transport method and date for each call-off. Each partial delivery is invoiced with payment due 15 days after the agreed delivery date; if HAVERMA causes a delay, the start of that period moves accordingly. Remaining quantities and fulfilment are reconciled at year-end.
«Postal assessment» is a prerequisite of our project, not an approval already granted or an unrestricted transport guarantee from Swiss Post.
WHY WE ARE DEVELOPING THIS FORMAT
C13 leaves space unused.
D14 goes beyond the limit.
Between the smaller C13/C3 format and the postal B5 limit, packaging area remains unused. Moving to a larger D14 envelope can already exceed the B5 limit. HAVERMA B5 aims to fill precisely this gap.
C13/C3: unused space
A smaller envelope does not use the full permitted B5 footprint. Yet within the same postal service and weight band, you do not pay less postage simply because the packaging is smaller. If the contents only just fail to fit, you lack space that the postal format limit would in principle still allow.
HAVERMA B5: use the limit
At 176 × 250 mm outside, our design follows the B5 upper limit. The planned inside dimensions are 156 × 240 mm. Suitable goods gain more space to be arranged, without the larger envelope format alone forcing a move outside B5.
D14: larger than needed?
A D14 outside format above 176 × 250 mm exceeds the B5 limit of the announced «Volumenbrief». Even if the contents are light enough, excessive outside dimensions make the mailpiece unsuitable for that service. HAVERMA B5 aims to avoid that format jump for suitable contents.
More area. The same postage.
The advantage comes from comparing the same shipping service: if the filled HAVERMA B5 envelope qualifies for the same postal product and weight band as your existing C13 envelope, postage stays the same. The difference is the extra room. The point is therefore not «cheaper than every other letter», but more usable area within the postage band already paid for.
For comparison, against a C13/C3 reference with 150 × 215 mm inside, our 156 × 240 mm design offers approximately 16% more inside area (374.4 instead of 322.5 cm²). These figures compare flat footprints, not additional guaranteed filling volume. C13/C3 dimensions vary by manufacturer.
The same postage requires the same postal service, weight band and preparation. Packaging and contents count together: actual outside dimensions, total thickness and total weight must comply. A larger envelope may itself weigh more. Tolerances and filling must also be considered for a design at the B5 limit.
WHO IS HAVERMA B5 FOR?
For businesses whose small goods
reach the limits of C13.
For small and large business shippers sending lightweight, sometimes delicate items who want to make better use of the available letter-mail space.
Several small items
For example jewellery and costume jewellery, collectible cards and accessories or seeds: more area can help arrange items side by side rather than stacking them unnecessarily. Whether the mailpiece stays flatter depends on the actual contents.
Between C13 and D14
For goods that lack space in C13 but do not need a larger D14 envelope. The aim is suitable padded packaging within B5, for appropriate flat mailpieces as well as thicker mailpieces for the «Volumenbrief» from 2027.
Regular shipping and resale
For online retailers, professional shippers, resellers and distributors. A format that takes over suitable C13 applications and covers additional cases can simplify packaging ranges and packing processes.
OUR DEVELOPMENT GOAL
Replace C13.
More room without a format premium.
We are developing HAVERMA B5 as an alternative to the existing C13 format in Swiss letter mail. Our price target: price parity with comparable C13 bubble envelopes.
More usable area should not require a surcharge solely for the larger format. Together with unchanged postage under the same postal classification, this creates the intended benefit: more packaging space at comparable packaging and shipping costs.
HAVERMA B5 is intended to replace C13 where construction, protection needs and finished mailpiece dimensions are suitable. It need not replace every C13 application and is not a substitute for D14 when the contents genuinely need more room.
Price parity with C13 is a long-term product goal for comparable quality and terms. It is neither a confirmed regular selling price nor a reference price for calculating a promotional discount. The one-off introductory offer being prepared has its own terms, limited to its quantity and campaign. The provisional introductory price is unconfirmed and is not a binding offer.
SWISS SHIPPING · FROM 2027
Designed for the space between letters and parcels.
The «Volumenbrief» announced by Swiss Post for 1 January 2027 offers a shipping option for lightweight, thicker mailpieces within B5.
According to the published Swiss Post factsheet: over 2 cm and up to 5 cm thick, maximum 250 × 176 mm and 500 g total weight, with tracking. CHF 4.20 when ready to send and franked with a barcode; CHF 5.20 when handed in at a branch without prior franking, both including VAT. These are postal tariffs, not packaging prices.
Flat mailpieces up to 2 cm may still qualify for a different letter service. D14 is not automatically a parcel either: within the B4 limit, a large letter up to 2 cm may be possible.
HAVERMA claims no Swiss Post approval, certification or guarantee for this envelope. Suitability must be checked on the finished mailpiece under the applicable conditions. Manufacturing tolerances and filling must not cause the format limit to be exceeded.

Recycle paper and padding separately.
Paper from FSC-certified wood
Paper from FSC-certified wood is planned for the intended B5 production. This statement concerns the paper component, not the bubble film or other HAVERMA formats.
Separable bubble film
The bubble film is intended to separate from the paper. This helps material separation and recycling: paper and film can enter the appropriate collection streams separately. Please follow local acceptance and disposal requirements.
Planning status of the intended B5 production. Product-specific FSC evidence and separability on a production sample must be confirmed before batch approval. This does not establish FSC certification of the entire envelope or a general recycling guarantee.

ONE-OFF OFFER · INTRODUCTORY PRICES FOR THE CAMPAIGN QUANTITY ONLY
One-off introductory prices.
Only for your campaign quantity.
One-off introductory offer – prices unconfirmed. Project calculation basis: CHF 0.068 per piece / CHF 6.80 per carton of 100, the same for all quantities. On the current calculation, this provisional, unconfirmed figure is intended to cover production and development; no profit is planned from this pre-order project. The figures shown only indicate the basis for introductory prices in this one-off offer. They are not yet confirmed campaign prices, nor usual or regular selling prices. The final introductory price will be set before the offer opens; future regular selling prices will be determined separately. The basis is net ex works Poland, excluding transport, import duties/taxes, customs clearance and VAT. The introductory price applies only to the pre-ordered quantity agreed for the first supply year, not to later purchases.
The number of pieces always means your entire purchase quantity within twelve months of production completion. You do not have to take the whole quantity at once. One carton contains 100 pieces; the smallest planned unit is one carton.
A higher total pre-order quantity may allow a price reduction. It will be announced only after the calculation is confirmed and applied consistently to the guaranteed project quantities. Prices already agreed will not be increased.

ONE-OFF PRE-ORDER OFFER · ANNUAL COMMITMENT ONLY AFTER OPENING
Pre-order once.
Take deliveries across the first year.
Under the one-off introductory offer to be opened later, a business pre-orders a fixed annual quantity of the product still in development. In return, HAVERMA – Hagen Versandmaterial undertakes to supply that quantity in accordance with the contract within the same year from production. The pre-order is structured as a conditional purchase and supply agreement with individually agreed partial call-offs.
Flexible deliveries across the year
Delivery dates and partial quantities are agreed individually. The agreed total quantity must be taken by the end of the twelve-month supply period. No automatic obligation arises for subsequent years.
Payment due in 15 days
Each partial delivery is invoiced separately: 15 calendar days from the agreed delivery date. If HAVERMA causes a delay, the payment period starts later accordingly. No advance payment of the full annual quantity is planned.
Plan transport together
The buyer bears transport costs. HAVERMA helps find economical options, particularly for small quantities, and considers consolidated transport for several buyers. Costs and dates are agreed before commissioning transport; the absolute cheapest option is not guaranteed.
Factory address, loading, export, importer, customs clearance and transfer of transport risk must be clearly agreed in the individual delivery plan. «Ex works» describes the price basis here and does not replace those arrangements. Legally due taxes must be considered separately.
Download the agreement
The draft covers annual quantities and partial call-offs, project-start conditions, price and possible reductions, payment terms, transport, defects, delays and failure to reach the target. It is not yet cleared for signature. Outstanding mandatory details will be completed before pre-orders open, and the final version will undergo legal review.
Download the draft agreement as PDF →
Downloading, expressing interest or registering for an email does not create a purchase obligation. Only a complete, mutually signed and effective agreement can later count towards the guaranteed quantity. Defects and complaints are handled separately; no voluntary general right of return is planned.
